Meet the Author

Hello! My name is Letitia Wang-Moore. I am the founder of Lighthouse Education Consulting, an educational consultant, and a Chinese and English language instructor. I am a native Chinese speaker who grew up in Taiwan and have lived in the US for more than a decade. With over 20 years of experience in education, I have dedicated my career to supporting families in overcoming educational challenges, cultural differences, and promoting bilingual development.
My journey began when I noticed the hurdles faced by Chinese-speaking families in adapting to the US education system. As someone who has navigated these cultural and educational landscapes myself, I understand the hardship, yet I also am aware of the importance of having access to resources and a supportive community.
I am extremely passionate about bridging gap between Chinese and American education practices and supporting bilingual education. I have also worked in various educational settings, including public and private schools and higher education institutions in the US. My educational background and personal experiences have enriched my understanding and approach to education, which equips me with knowledge and skills needed to support Chinese-speaking families and bilingual education.
Outside my professional life, I enjoy reading, traveling, doing yoga, and jogging, and I love spending time with my family and exploring diverse cultures and foods.
I am a graduate of the MAFLT program at Michigan State University, where I honed my skills in a range of areas critical to educational development. My studies focus on effective teaching strategies for different languages, evaluating learning outcomes, and integrating cultural insights into language instruction. I also explore how languages function in people’s everyday life in society, how they are learned, and the effective ways to use technology in language education. This training equips me with the necessary tools to support Chinese-speaking families in navigating the US education system and embracing bilingual development.
